An MBA student can choose any type of internship they wish to complete, depending on their interests and goals. Typically, MBA students will complete an internship in an industry aligned with their specialty. Financial services internships, for example, may begin with data analysis, financial models, and investment strategies. Other businesses may use MBA interns as training opportunities for new employees.

In addition to internships, MBA students can also participate in Employee Resource Groups. These groups help companies create a diverse, inclusive, and engaged work force. Examples of Employee Resource Groups include BOLD (Black Leadership Development Network), Women’s Impact Network, and African American Network. By taking advantage of these networks, MBA students can develop valuable networking skills. These programs can even help you secure future employment. 

The majority of MBA summer internships occur in the first and second year of the program. MBA interns typically work for 10-12 weeks.
