As an impact investor, you must have excellent finance skills. Typically, you must have at least five years of experience in venture capital and finance. Many impact investing firms are too small to provide basic training. This includes financial modeling, understanding financial statements, and operating analysis of a company. You will need to learn all of these skills as well as the basics of impact investing. In addition, you’ll need to learn about legal and tax issues related to the industry.
